Welcome to our dance section page. Here is our current classes that are held at Speers Point Rsl.
We are currently holding classes in the newcastle area for complete beginners who are wanting to experience jazz, charlestons and blues music. Don’t worry you don’t need a partner as we have a rotation system. These classes are purely for people who have no dance experience in lindyhop.
For those who love their 50′s rocknroll music and have already learned the basics. Please come along and style your rocknroll dancing with groovy moves and improvisation.
MONDAY NIGHT CLASSES
Style: Hip Hop/Swing Kids
Information: This class is for kids from 5 – 13 years of age. You will learn 30 minutes of Hip Hop with the current rnb music and 30 minutes of Swing and RocknRoll. Bring your children along as they will have alot of fun and also experience different styles of dancing. You will be also taught how to dance with a partner in the second section. Your children can join any time. No uniform is required just comfortable footwear and casual clothing.
Time: 6:30 -7:30pm
Cost: $5
Style: Beginners Lindyhop
Information: Learn lindyhop which was originated in Harlem, New York USA in the late 1920′s. If you love jazz and blues, this will be the style for you. It has currently created quite a following around the world and especially in Europe and Australia.

Style: Intermediate RocknRoll
Information: Learn to style your rocknroll moves and improvise like the rocknroll old timers. Feel the rhythm and have fun with some crazy moves that will look cool on the floor.
Time: 8:45 – 9:45pm
Cost: $5
