Frankie Manning the Ambassador of Lindyhop, has died at the Age of 94. He died on April 27th in New York. There has been so many tributes around the world of this remarkable person, friend, relative and dancer. As a lindyhop dancer myself, i will always remember him as having given the passion and inspiration not  only to me but to the whole world. One of his most famous sayings was “1 and a 2 you know what to do”. I met frankie manning in 2001 in a sydney workshop held by Jan Oshea, currently wasn’t that keen on lindyhop. But when i saw Frankie Manning that day, he made the dance so much fun and his smile ” WOW”. I had said to myself ” I got to do this dance”. Ever since i have been apart of the lindy hop world. I believe, if everyone had the charisma and positive nature as frankie the world would be a better place. We will sadly miss Frankie Manning, many people will grieve his death around the world.

Between the dates 21-27th May. Lindyhop enthusiast will be gathering in New York to honor  Frankie Manning. There will be a memorial service held within this festival.
